Hotel OrphéeThis traditional inn with wainscoted walls still preserves the vintage looks from 1896 and is a cosy haven right in the heart of the “medieval marvel” of Regensburg, situated a mere three minutes' stroll from the gothic cathedral and the famous stone bridge across the river Danube. The hotel rooms installed in this baroque palazzo are huge and encompass up to 60 square meters. With their elaborately carved and inlaid baroque doors and period doorframes with hand-wrought hinges plus their ornately stuccoed ceilings, their fancy furniture and state-of-the-art bathrooms these rooms are splendid indeed. Each room has its unique character and flair. Thus, you will find antiques, chandeliers, old wardrobe trunks and four-poster beds.

Hotel details

The house in "Wahlenstrasse 1" has for many generations been owned by the Regensburg merchants of the Schindlmeier family. For almost a dozen years this historical building has been home to our charming "Petit Hotel Orphée". It is not just us and our many guests who have taken a liking to this cozy place.

Food & Beverages

The Restaurant Orphée is considered to be the most authentic French Bistro east of the Rhine River. Since 1896 the interior of the restaurant with its original wainscoting and wood partitions has been preserved virtually untouched. Red plush settees and marble tables await you in the front bistro area of the restaurant, wainscoting and formally laid-out tables with Thonet chairs in the rear restaurant area.

If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.

All children are welcome.  All children under 10 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 37.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
