Due to the perfect location of our hotel in the city center, pedestrian areas, shopping districs, the Marienplatz and other sights can be reached on foot.
By car:
As the Hotel Präsident is situated directly in the centre of Munich and near the main railway station, just follow the signs ”Stadtmitte” (city centre) and ”Hauptbahnhof” (main railway station).
Coming from the north (motorway Nürnberg - München), you follow straight the Leopoldstraße (it will be the Ludwigstraße after the arch) until you arrive at the Brienner Straße (Odeonsplatz). As there is no other possibility, you turn right and at the next crossing left. Then you will pass the Maximiliansplatz, Lenbachplatz and Karlsplatz/Stachus. When you see the Galeria Kaufhof on your right, you turn the third road to the right. This is the Schwanthalerstraße. In about 100 meters you will see the Hotel Präsident on your right (just in opposite of the Deutsche Theater).
Coming from the south (motorway Salzburg - München), you follow straight the Rosenheimer Straße, pass the Ludwigsbrücke (there is an IMAX cinema at your left) and you will get straight into the Zweibrückenstraße. At the Isartorplatz you turn left into the Frauenstraße. Follow this road (it will be the Blumenstraße after the Viktualienmarket) to the Sendlinger Tor. Then follow the Sonnenstraße until the Karlsplatz/Stachus and make an u-turn there. After the Galeria Kaufhof you turn the third road to the right. This is the Schwanthalerstraße. In about 100 meters you will
see the Hotel Präsident on your right (just in opposite of the Deutsche Theater).
Coming from another direction or when you get lost, just follow the signs directly to the main railway station (”Hauptbahnhof”). When you see the main entrance on your right (if not make a u-turn), go straight forward (after the crossing) into the Schillerstraße. The next big crossroad will be the Schwanthalerstraße. Turn left and in about 100 meters you will see the Hotel Präsident on your left (just in opposite of the Deutsche Theater).
By train:
You can walk the above mentioned way from the Hauptbahnhof (it will take about 5 minutes). If you have heavy luggage, a bell-boy from the station could help you.
By airplane:
There is an S-Bahn going directly from the airport to Karlplatz/Stachus. Get out there and take the exit Schwanthalerstraße. The taxi-fare will be about 50,- €
