As the largest privately owned
hotel in Europe founded in 1841 and bought in 1897 by the
Volkhardt family, the present owners, the BAYERISCHER HOF
has an exclusive city center location. The business and
shopping center as well as the Opera House, theaters museums
and Art Galleries are all within easy walking distance. The
main station is 1/2 mile away and Munich's International
Airport is reached easily by taxi, airport bus or subway.

This year Mrs. Innegrit
Volkhardt, owner of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, used the
summer break to invest seven Million Euro on renovation work
of several facilities in her hotel.
Festsaal
The ball room, a meeting place for celebrities of
politics, economy and the media industry, has been
completely redesigned by the German architect
Siegward Graf Pilati. The three story hall is kept in light
yellow and has been harmonized in art deco with alabaster
lamps. Not only the interior decoration was changed, the
Festsaal has been brought to the latest technical standard.
In order to provide best conditions for meetings and
conferences 36 "Movinglights", 24 Videobeamers, 6 large
screens, 16 suspension points for up to 2 tons of weight,
and a Bose speaker system have been installed. But the most
interesting new feature will be the glass roof, that can be
opened within 1 ½ minutes and also be completely darkened.
The glass steel construction weighs about 36 tons and
provides the ballroom a special ambience as well at day as
at night.
The Festsaal is ideally suited for all kind of conferences
and banquet events. It can even be connected with the next
room, the Cocktaillounge, with lifting doors as needed.
Also Atrium, Kaminlounge, Spiegelsaal and Gallery I and II
can be linked together and may hold up to 3000 people.
Atrium
/ Kaminlounge
The Atrium impresses by its glass dome shaped roof .
Construction and decoration matches perfectly with the
furniture in a classical way. It may be used as lobby,
meeting place, small talk, even for exhibitions. The Atrium
leads into the Kaminlounge with it's cozy open fire place.
Spiegelsaal - mirror room / falk's Bar
The history of the Spiegelsaal goes back into the year
1841. After a bomb attack on April 25th, 1944, the Hotel
Bayerischer Hof was nearly completely destroyed - except for
the Spiegelsaal (heaven knows who may have saved this
place). On October 22th, 1945, in this room, Mr. Falk
Volkhardt opened the first restaurant after the war in the
center of
Munich. Here after the reconstruction of the Hotel
Bayerischer Hof has started.
Now, 57 years later, Mrs. Innegrit Volkhardt opened the
falk's Bar. The theme of the falk's Bar is "The New
Generation B@r". This is emphasized with a modern glass bar
including two computer working stations with internet access
and many other interesting features.
In
addition to the 395 deluxe guest rooms and suites, the
BAYERISCHER HOF offers 38 elegant conference and banqueting
suites seating from 10 to 1620 persons. For the relaxation
of our guests the hotel offers a rooftop (indoor/outdoor)
swimming pool, sauna, steam baths and cardio fitness all of
which are free of charge to hotel guests. At additional
cost solarium and massage are available.
The well known "Trader Vic's"
bars and restaurants serving South Sea cocktails and food
specialties, the "Palais Keller" our Bavarian restaurant
serving some of the best beer and German wines are also
available. The hotel theater "Komödie im Bayerischer Hof"
is also very popular with the local community.
Our shopping galleries include
boutiques featuring fashion from Helmut Lang, Donna Karan
Intimates as well as Arnoldy & Traub hair Stylists, beauty
salon and a fully equipped Qualimero Business Center.
The BAYERISCHER HOF is more
than a hotel, it is a Munich institution where the Munich
inhabitants like to meet.
