On
the northern shore of the Spree, a former egg cold store (for 75
million eggs) was rebuilt into a modern office building complex
‘Spree-Speicher’. North, on a terrain of a former light bulb factory,
behind the station Warschauer Straße, the service centre Oberbaum City
arose, where the international design center IDZ has found its
place as well.
Further east, in front of the 125 m high tower building of the Allianz
Versicherung AG, the Treptower, stands the monumental ‘Molecule
Man’ (30 m) from Jonathan Borofsky in the Spree. Close by you’ll find
the Arena, a cultural centre with clubs and bars, and a
Badeschiff.
