Area information From the Alte City, you can easily reach the countless shops and entertainment opportunities of the Kurfürstendamm area. Admire the famous Gedächtniskirche church, stroll through the popular Berlin Zoo, and explore the world-famous KaDeWe department store. Frequent bus, U-Bahn (underground) and S-Bahn (city rail) services quickly carry you to all parts of the city. Must-see attractions include the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag parliament building, Checkpoint Charlie, and East Side Gallery (remains of the Berlin Wall). Travel information From Tegel Airport, catch bus 109 and descend at Kurfürstendamm. The journey time is approximately 25 minutes. Alternatively, you can request the Alte City's shuttle service for an additional fee. From the Zoologischer Garten (Bahnhof Zoo) railway station, you can walk to the Alte City in approximately 10 minutes. The ICC exhibition centre is about 20 minutes away by bus (number 219). If you are travelling by car, exit the Stadtring city motorway at Kurfürstendamm. All guests staying at the Alte City receive a free parking badge on arrival.
