In Alexisbad you will find a swimming pool, historical monuments, a network of hiking trails, a temple dedicated to Princess Luise, the quaint Köthener Hütte wooden hut, the Verlobungsurne urn and the Harz valley railway.
There are also many sights in the nearby surroundings which are worth visiting, such as the city of Strasbourg or the town of Harzgerode with its palace, church and a country parlour.
The Harz mountains are located in the centre of Germany and contain the highest mountain peak in the country - the Brocken (1,142 metres). The Alexisbad lake (325 metres above sea-level) is in the romantic Selke valley, and is one of the most charming valleys in the Harz area.
This valley is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Harz region, and offers diverse and interesting hiking trails. A historical highlight of the region is the Selketal railway train, which is the oldest light railway in Harz.
